Popular Hikes

This series of acrylic on wood panel paintings celebrates the joy of hiking and camping in the woods of rural New England and beyond. Many of the images are based on imagined visions of the land, based on memory. Others are born from sketches or photography, altered to suit acrylic’s ability to produce glossy, hyper-saturated colors, as in a dream world.
